The city's population exceeds 10 million (over twice as much including the
suburbs).
The main language spoken is
Hindustani but English and Punjabi are also widely spoken.
New Delhi was designed by a British architect (Edwin
Lutyens) to house the government and the city is the capital of India. The
city is a blend of modern and traditional, with skyscrapers, temples and
beautiful gardens.
